The Upper Deck Bar & Grill – New Smyrna Beach, Florida

It’s official… I’m adding the Upper Deck Bar & Grill to my short list of favorite restaurants in New Smyrna Beach. Dinner at The Upper Deck Bar & Grill is worth climbing a flight of stairs. Actually, I’d be willing to climb several flights of stairs in order to get one of the best Margaritas I’ve ever had and two of my favorite foods (lobster and mac’n cheese) combined into one scrumptious dish. Don’t worry though, they’ll make it easy for you… you can take the elevator.

The restaurant interior is casual and comfortable, the open air seating on the porch allows you to look out towards the ocean and the lounge area downstairs begs for you to sit back relax, have a cocktail (or two), catch up with old friends or make new ones.

Back to the Lobster Mac’n Cheese… It’s comfort food on steroids and The Upper Deck hits it out of the park. There were huge chunks of succulent lobster and the cheese sauce should be illegal and yes, we ate the entire loaf of bread. The portion is HUGE, more than enough for two if you have an appetizer first. I already have my eyes on the fish dip and shrimp & grits as starters next time.

Our waiter (Mateo – who took great care of us) recommended I try the Champagne Seafood. It was amazing and loaded with Shrimp, Scallops, Crabmeat stuffing and topped with a Crab Cake. It was light, yet filling and full of fresh flavor.  The garlic bread is handing to mop up the champagne sauce… are you hungry yet?
